Grilled beef steak with Malaysian spices Recipe

Grilled beef steak with Malaysian spices Recipe

Maximum flavour with minimum fuss, this recipe is guaranteed for success as long as good quality tenderloin is well marinated, grilled quickly and sliced across the grain. Cooked this way, beef is the consummate meal that satisfies.

Ingredients :

    • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 700 g (11/2 lbs) beef tenderloin
    • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds, dry-roasted and coarsely ground in a mortar
    • 2 teaspoons coriander seeds, dry-roasted and ground in a mortar
    • 11/2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 tablespoon oil
    • Fresh juice of 1/2 lime

Method :

    1. Combine the lime juice and soy sauce, then pour this over the beef and coat well with the mixture. Allow to marinate for at least 20 minutes.
    2. Mix the cumin, coriander and salt in a small bowl and rub the mixture into both sides of the beef. Lightly brush with oil and grill the beef on a preheated pan grill or under a broiler for about 3 minutes on each side until cooked, turning often. Remove from the heat.
    3. Slice the grilled beef into thick slices. Arrange on a serving platter, sprinkle with lime juice and serve hot with a salad.
