Pineapple gin slings Recipe

The iconic gin sling, famous for its combination of fragrant aromas and flavours, has been enjoyed for over a century at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The sweet cherry brandy on top of zesty lime juice and aromatic pineapple, topped with the anise of angostura and cinnamon of Benedictine all contained in one drink–surely a piece of heaven in a glass!

Ingredients :

    • 8 oz (250 ml) gin
    • 4 oz (125 ml) cherry brandy
    • 2 oz (60 ml) fresh lime juice
    • 4 cups (1 litre) unsweetened fresh or canned pineapple juice
    • 3 oz (100 ml) grenadine syrup
    • 3 dashes Benedictine Dom
    • Dash of triple sec
    • Few drops of angostura bitters
    • 3 slices lime, halved, to garnish
    • Mint leaves, to garnish
    • 6 swizzle sticks

Method :

Fill a large chilled pitcher a quarter full with ice cubes. Pour in all the ingredients, one by one, and stir the mixture twice. Strain the drink into 6 highball glasses filled with ice cubes. Garnish each glass with a half a slice of lime and serve with a mint leaf and swizzle stick.
