Flour Crisps Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 3 shallots, peeled
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for deep-frying

Method :

  1. Grind the shallots and garlic in a mortar or blender. Knead this paste with all the other Ingredients, except the oil for deep-frying, to form a smooth dough On a floured surface, roll the dough out as thinly as possible and cut into small squares.
  2. Deep-fry the dough squares in very hot oil in a wok until light golden brown and crispy, about 2 to 3 minutes. Set aside to cool. When cooled, store the crisps in an airtight container. Serve as a crunchy topping in Yu Sheng.

Cooking time 20 mins
