How to cook Salmon Tofu Miso Soup Recipe

Modern Taiwanese cuisine is largely influenced by Japanese and Chinese cuisine, and one such dish is salmon tofu miso soup. The salmon can be replaced with any kind of fish you like, but in Taiwan, salmon is the preferred choice. Serve this with other side dishes and rice for a wholesome and satisfying meal.

Ingredients :

  • 300 g (11 oz) salmon fillet, skinned
  • 350 g (12 oz) silken tofu
  • 800 ml (26 fl oz) water
  • 2 Tbsp bonito flakes or 1 Tbsp bonito powder
  • 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp white miso paste
  • 1 tsp rice wine

Ingredients :

  1. Cut the salmon and tofu into 2.5-cm (1-in) cubes.
  2. Place the water, bonito flakes or powder and ginger into a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the soup back into the pan and bring to a boil. Turn to low heat and add the salmon and tofu. Simmer
    for 15 minutes.
  4. Mix the miso paste with the rice wine and add to the soup. Stir gently to avoid breaking up the salmon and tofu. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
  5. Dish out. Garnish as desired and serve.
